The Immigration Department of Malaysia is pleased to announce an update to the renewal process for the Employment Pass (EP). This update, effective from 1 July 2021 onwards, will be applicable for expatriates who will remain in Malaysia and wish to proceed with the EP renewal for the same position in the same company.

UPDATE: OPERATIONS DURING THE MOVEMENT CONTROL ORDER FROM 13 TO 26 JANUARY 2021

Expatriates with expired passes from 1 January 2020 and are currently in Malaysia are allowed to leave the country within 14 working days upon the end of the Movement Control Order(MCO), without having to apply for any special passes or obtain prior approval from the Malaysian authorities.
