NEW FACILITY IMPLEMENTATION: PERMISSION TO WORK FOR FOREIGN PROFESSIONALS WITH SOCIAL VISIT PASS (PLS@XPATS)

We refer to the announcement made by the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM) dated 3 October 2022 (Monday); JIM implemented a new facility for foreign professionals to apply to Work with maximum of (30) days Social Visit Pass (PLS@XPATS) from the date of arrival to Malaysia.

The condition of this facility is applicable for the execution of critical works in selected sectors as follows:


Permitted Sectors:

     a)Government Sector
     b)Government-Linked Company (GLC); and
     c) Private Sector


Permitted Sectors Category:

     a)Security & Defence
     b)Manufacturing
     c)Construction
     d)Health & Medical
     e)Oil, Gas & Energy
     f)Finance & Banking
     g)Electrical & Electronics
     h)Wholesale & Retail
     i)Tourism
     j)Business Services
     k)Commodity
     l)Education
     m)Agriculture
     o)Information, Technology & Infrastructure


The hiring company may submit the application through Immigration online system via https://mtp.imi.gov.my/plsXpats. The processing charter is Three (3) Working Days upon complete document submission.


The Permission to Work with a maximum of (30) days Social Visit Pass (PLS@XPATS) will be endorsed at the Immigration Entry Point, subject to the Approval Letter.

Can the company change the appointed person in the LoU at a later time?


A:
Yes. The existing company Director nominated to sign the LoU may change the appointed person at a later time. However, should the appointed Director changes in the company, the new Director is required to sign the LoU.
