PERMISSION TO UNDERTAKE INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS MOBILITY PROGRAM UNDER SOCIAL VISIT PASS
Companies successfully registered with ESD will now be able to apply for permission to undertake international students mobility program under Social Visit Pass (SVP) through the ESD system effective 9th November 2015.
This facility covers short-term programs / activity including student exchange, industrial / practical training, internship, mentorship and other similar programs for a period determined by the participant's eligibility by country for social visit pass; or a maximum period of up to three (3) months. Programs that requires more than the participant's social visit pass duration must apply for a Professional Visit Pass.
Any ESD-registered company that intends to undertake short-term placements of international students within their company must apply for permision for this facility. Applications that are endorsed will be issued a support letter from Talent Corporation Malaysia Berhad (TalentCorp). This support letter serves as a reference of the participant's purpose of visit to Malaysia and for Immigration Department Malaysia's compliance and monitoring purpose. It cannot be deemed as an approval letter and is subject to Immigration Malaysia visa and pass requirements.
For country requiring visa, program participants will have to apply for visa from the Malaysian Embassy / Consulate General / High Commission of their respective home country. Program participant can use the TalentCorp support letter for reference when applying for visa. Nevertheless, the approval is subject to the discretion of Malaysian Embassy/Consulate General/ High Commission.
Upon entry into the country, program participants will be endorsed with visit pass by the Immigration officer at entry point.
