As part of our continuous efforts to enhance service delivery and streamline the Investor Pass application process, please be informed that the Type of Investor category under the Investor Pass application in the Xpats Gateway system will be revised with effect from 13 March 2026.

This revision aligns the application categories with the current Investor Pass policy and ensures compliance with prevailing regulations and national security standards.

The updated Type of Investor categories are as follows:

Please note that the "Existing Investor" category will be removed. Investors who already own a company in Malaysia or hold a directorship in a company are not eligible to apply for the Investor Pass, as such applications fall outside the scope of the current Investor Pass policy.

Applicants under this category are advised to apply for an Employment Pass (EP) or a Professional Visit Pass (PVP), subject to the relevant eligibility requirements and prevailing regulations.

Kindly be informed that any Investor Pass applications under the "Existing Investor" category that remain in draft status will be automatically removed from the system effective 13 March 2026.
