We refer to the announcement made on 30 October 2021 on projection of expatriates. Please be informed that the last date to submit projection of expatriates for the year of 2021 is 17 December 2021. Upon submission, company is strongly advised to justify the needs of hiring expatriates to avoid rejection in the projection.

ENTRY RESTRICTIONS ON FOREIGN TRAVELLERS TO MALAYSIA

Please be informed that the Ministry of Health (MOH) has imposed temporary entry restrictions on foreign travellers entering Malaysia from countries with a high risk of the new COVID-19 variant of concern, Omicron or those who have been to the same countries 14 days prior entering Malaysia.

(UPDATE) ENDORSEMENT GUIDELINES: ESD SATELLITE CENTRE (ESC) KLIA1 AND DELIVERY OF ENDORSED PASS

MYENTRY EXEMPTION FOR EXPATRIATES ENTERING, LEAVING AND RETURNING TO MALAYSIA

We refer to the announcement made by the Immigration Department of Malaysia on 28 October 2021. Kindly note that with effect from 1 November 2021, MYEntry will no longer be applicable to expatriates holding long-term passes who are entering, leaving and returning to Malaysia, provided that they have a valid pass.

LIFTED ENTRY RESTRICTIONS FOR THE COUNTRY OF INDIA, SRI LANKA, BANGLADESH, PAKISTAN AND NEPAL

Effective 20 September 2021, please be informed that the Government of Malaysia has made the decision to uplift the entry restrictions for the country of India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Nepal. However, permission to enter Malaysia is subject to the decision and discretion of the Immigration Department of Malaysia.

The Immigration Department of Malaysia is pleased to announce an update to the renewal process for the Employment Pass (EP). This update, effective from 1 July 2021 onwards, will be applicable for expatriates who will remain in Malaysia and wish to proceed with the EP renewal for the same position in the same company.

Expatriates with expired passes from 1 January 2020 and are currently in Malaysia are allowed to leave the country within 14 working days upon the end of the Movement Control Order(MCO), without having to apply for any special passes or obtain prior approval from the Malaysian authorities.
